Abortion and Contraception Alternatives and Information

Mary and the Baby Jesus There is a euphemism being distributed by the moneyed media and abortion industry - it is "emergency contraception". This is abortion with a new name. The Morning After Pill is a way to abort a conceived child. But, it's no surprise that we've gotten to this point as a nation. It started with the acceptance of contraception, and has led to abortion both insode and out of the mother's womb.

If you think that any form of contraception is OK, you have been misled. People may say to you "I'm against abortion except in cases of rape, incest..." Well, ask them why. Say to them, "OK, let's leave those (extremely) rare instances for a minute. Explain to me why in all other cases abortion is wrong. Get them to admit that it is wrong because it is murder. Then bring it back to the other cases and ask how it is any less murder simply because of the circumstances of conception. I also like to ask them to provide for me any proof that a woman is able to forget a rape by killing her child. And, if there is any proof that the woman is psychologically healthier after an abortion following a rape or incest, ask to see that as well. May God heal the wounds caused by this horror on all the lives touched.

The Pill works three ways - it suppresses ovulation so that an egg is not released, it thickens cervical mucus to make the environment hostile to sperm migration, and it thins the uteran wall so that a fertilized egg cannot implant. With the lower dose pills, the last action is most likely the more common. So, if you are on the pill and are pro-life, you must get off the pill, because in any given cycle, you could be aborting your child.

Abortion Alternatives This is a web site devoted entirely to abortion alternatives. I looked through it and it looks OK.

Abortion Questions and Answers This is the electronic version of a book published by the Ohio Right to Life Committee. It seems to have very sober and pertinent answers to some of the questions you may get from sincere, but ill-informed, relatives, friends and co-workers. Be ready to respond - read this book!

American Life League A favorite of mine. The founder and current president, Mrs. Judie Brown, is a wonderful example of Christian charity and love, demonstrated through her devotion to rid this world of the useless killing of 100% defenseless pre-born humans.

Anti-Euthanasia Task Force A good site for research when you are dealing with someone whose mind has been washed with the cliches of the media elite who want everything to be based on expediency and "fun". Even if it includes murdering for the sake of convenience. My favorite page on this site is"Words Used in Assisted Suicide Debate".

Couple to Couple League, International My wife and I are a teaching couple for CCL in and around the Pittsburgh Diocese. It is a wonderful, practical and safe method of Natural Family Planning.

Family Research Council Although this is not a Catholic site, there is invaluable information and resources here. This group was originally formed by Focus on the Family.

Human Life International Defending Life, Faith and Family Around the World. A very well-developed and implemented site. Extremely readable and clean. A wonderful assortment of resources for the pro-life cause.

March for Life The MARCH FOR LIFE is the collective effort of grassroots prolife Americans to assure that our laws protect the right to life of each human being. Topics included: Life Principles Amendment to the Constitution; Equal Care for Mother and Pre-Born Child; Rape - Abortion; Single-issue politics; A "Crime Against Humanity", etc.

Phyllis Schlafley's Eagle Forum For information from a conservative and level-headed view, focusing often on issues and how they relate to our real freedoms, especially the freedom to live through a pregnancy. In most cases, if you wince at something you read on a conservative site, it's not a problem with the facts, it's a reaction to the garbage that the mainline media has placed in your head about how you're supposed to react to words and actions which promote life and family. You can choose to kill your child, but you can't choose to be pro-life, or else you're closed-minded. It's a convenient double standard for those who hate life.

The Delaware Valley Pro-Life Alliance A great site for information related to abortion alternatives. They have a phone number you can call for totally free help: (610) 626-4006.

Republican Coalition for Life Good site. My only prayer is that this information gets into the hands of our nationally elected Republican leaders. Most of them, especially in the Senate, seemed to have lost their way. Perhaps sites like this will bring them back to their senses.

Stop Planned Parenthood "We intend to cause such discontent with Planned Parenthood programs that it will have no choice but to close its doors and get out of town! It seems so simple, but if everyone were willing to take up their cross and stand up for life, the job of STOPP would not be so difficult." It's funny to hear people claim they would boldly walk into the Roman Coliseum to be eaten by lions for the sake of Christ, but if you ask them not to buy anything from Disney, they'll tell you how hard that would be since their kids just love Mickey and they've been telling their kids for years they would one day go there...etc. May God open their eyes to what true sacrifice is, and what glories await them in heaven for these small pains for Christ.

Dr. John Willke - Life Issues Institute "Assuring, through education, equal protection under the law for all living humans from the beginning of their biological life at fertilization until natural death." I don't think the Doctor is Catholic, but I didn't find anything in his site that was anti-Catholic. In fact, I found one article that was right on target about how the Magisterium has rightly stood on the side of life, but at the local level, many Bishops and priests have been silent. Maybe some day, their love for acceptance will be out-weighed by their love for truth and life.

Life Enterprises Unlimited This contains some apologetics and current events issues as well as Life issues. It is owned by a Catholic priest.
