Sand and dust and your beauty

Sand and dust and your beauty
walk before me. Your eyes -
the color of sand at sunrise
when the water makes it a sparkling mirror.
The arrogant waves dared erase your footprints
which consecrated this sea-shore for me..

Sand and dust and your beauty
but of these three only sand remains
and you, my sunrise, are dust now.
The furious wind dared erase your perfume
which made this city a garden for me.

The elements did not have mercy even
for your tomb. I saw the mark of harsh rain
trying to erase your very name
carved in stone, and the date of your birth,
when you first brought happiness to someone,
and the year of your death,
when you took your happiness from its last recipient..

There's a place. Sometimes I think of it, at night.
Erosion has no time there.
Iron remains shining for ever.
Sand and dust and your beauty
stay forever the same, as if someone painted -
Paradise in a frozen moment,
and even dust has the shining glory
of your smile...
