BACK TO MY HOMEPAGE
(I hope you appreciated me taking the time to put that in as I often don't. BTW, if a popup window has appeared, then it shouldn't have. Tell me and I'll endeavour to kill it.)
.
Myself, (EddyH) I got 7 A's (one was an A*), 1 B, 3 C's and an E.
1 x A* -- Physics
6 x A -- Biology, Chemistry, English Literature, French, Maths (last year), and Geography.
1 x B -- English Language, with a C for the sub-category of 'speaking and listening'...
3 x C -- Music, and two half-grades for I.T. and R.S.
and an E (well, half of an E); for the much-hated Graphic Design.
All of which was very cool, with the possible exception of the design, but I loathed that with a passion so I'm surprised I passed. Also it should be noted that although all my other subjects were 'higher-level', I.T. and G.D. were 'lower-level', where the maximum mark is a 'C'. So I am actually about 'A*' grade on I.T, I was just given the wrong exam..
I also got a C-grade for the one-quarter of my Advanced-level maths that I am taking early. Which was nice.
.
One friend (Mozza) got almost straight A's, but with a couple of C's as well. I think that the C's were in I.T. and G.D, but I can't be entirely certain. I would like to expand more on this but I just haven't enough info!
.
Poor Aidan got an unfortunate two B's and eight C's... we *WERE* trying to coax him out of his bedroom yesterday.. He was very upset, as it was jepordising his chance to carry on in the sixth form. Luckily today there was a sort of pre-term teacher/parent/pupil meeting thing for those unsure about their results or their subject choices. He's managed to scrape back into the sixth form on an A-level choice of General Studies (compulsory anyhow), English Literature, Religious Studies and Biology. A curious mix, but hopefully a successful mix of his best scoring subjects and the ones he's most interested in.
.
Anorak-boy David Craven (who I should be sucking up to as he's trying to get some PCs in our 6th-form study room) got a not-totally crap selection of Three A-stars, One A, and Six B's.. so please davey, can you get mr.coulsen to donate some bits from his old machine collection to the "4MWLOT make-a-machine from scrap" appeal??
.
Another non-anorak (Bailey) got all straight A's, and a 1/4 A-level which was a couple of points below mine. And he didn't say much else, so other details are sparse.
.
Not as sparse as for a few of my other associates, though. All I know of Atul Shinh and Andrew Ellison is that Atul got reasonably good GCSEs and a dismal A-Level fail, and that Andrew had an average of a 'D' grade, with results around it. If anyone can fill me in on what happened to James Crawley or Elliot Jones, I would like it a lot - they didn't show at the results day, and they're going on to distant futures... and crawley still has my quake CD..
(Just in case anyone is bothering to read this, it is now about 6 or 7 months after I originally wrote this file. James Crawley must have gotten reasonably decent results, as he's carried on through to the sixth form. And has finally returned my Quake CD!!!!! JOY!
Elliot Jones, well not even he knows what his results are. He told me. Hasn't even bothered to collect them or have them sent. And is doing very well anyway, getting all sorts of vehicle licenses, applying for the signals division of the army, holding down a decently paid bit of manual work and considering starting his own plumbing firm... good luck jonesy, this site owes it's existance to you! [good or bad?])

More will not follow later unless something momentous happens. VERY momentous. Right then I had to offline and go to bed, the first day of term started at 9.45am the next day. ('Why so late?' -- it's because of all the monumental sortings-out to be done over subjects, p.e. choices, etc. The 'new intake', e.g. first and lower-sixth formers, come in a day early so everything can be sorted out. My brother is moving up from the third to the fourth (year 9 to year 10). He got to stay in bed that morning. Lucky swine..)
Yay! Passed my driving test, at long last! Look out, motorists of Britain, here I come! Yeeehaw!
EddyH, signing off.
