Many different people for many different reasons know Clive Staples Lewis, from Christianity to his Chronicles of Narnia. Not only was Lewis a writer, but he was also a professor in England and a World War I veteran. Today he is known as C. S. Lewis because, except for his first publications in poetry, his works were always published under this name. Lewis's works dealt with Christianity and his constant questioning of his faith, because most of his life he spent as an atheist. This paper will examine his life, from his earlier life, schooling, World War I, and being a professor, to being part of an elite writing club called the Inklings. Also it will examine how Hollywood perceived Lewis in its movie "Shadowlands" and how Lewis actually lived in comparison to it. It will also go into his many works and especially his Chronicles of Narnia. | ![]() |
