Yosemite National Park
We spent two lovely days in Monterey, we need to get directions to drive to Yosemite Park. People of Castle Motel were kind enough to give excellent detailed directions to Yosemite Park. Driving towards East was through farm area. Think of about 200 miles passing by Lettuce, Strawberry Carrots Peaches ETC. All irrigation depends on sprinkle system in the desert. We took State Hwy 140 towards Yosemite, passed Merced and passed thorough without reserving a room in this city Continued to the Park, hoping of staying inside the Park. It is about 50 miles away from Park. Hotels in this area are priced above average, humble hotel starts from $ 80.00. Gas also is high; a gallon is $ 1.80 over there.
Yosemite is the highlight of the trip, the scenes are awesome and breath taking. It is ideal for at least 3 days and camping inside the park. This park is so huge to be covered in one day . Also there are some areas outside the park I did not have time to visit them. Waterfall is the breath taking landmark you will find many pictures from different angles. Pictures in Yosemite sometimes cannot be described. We sopped at bottom of nearest area to water fall, there is a trail you follow up till you reach actual waterfall, mist is so dense, like heavy rain that you are totally wet, you need to dry out and change later on. Sign of rainbow in this waterfall. Now it is getting dark we thought that hotels inside park will be available. No, these hotels are booked in advance (at least 3 weeks). We drove on Hwy 49 and drove till we found a humble hotel for $75.00 a night. This hotel has a sign says "Free TV, and Free Scenery!!!!!!"
Following day we spent half of day over there. There may activities you can enjoy over there: canoeing Water raft, Hiking or just relax and enjoy this awesome beautiful nature.
We Talked with different persons, who are California residents, who lived before there, and or frequent visitors to CA. We found out that most of people we know did not visit Yosemite. Unfortunately this wonderful park is under estimated by most of CA visitors.
I hope this site and other links beside those wonderful pictures can change minds of many persons and include Yosemite in their next visit
