"Wish" written April 24, 1998
I wish this life were simple
With nothing much to find
Inside the poetry or prose,
Inside the wand'ring mind.
If I picked a lady
To spend with all my time,
I'd have the courage to ask her,
She'd be my Valentine.
I wish this special someone
Would notice when I look.
I wish the clumsy suitor
would pull his head from book.
I wish affection turned
And shown bright upon me.
What a wonderful feeling,
How happy I would be.
Yet the world'd be boring,
Not joyful as this dish.
The world would not be shining
If you would grant my wish.
