The most facinating thing about Wicca/Paganism to me is the Medieval Living aspect of it.....call me a fool, but I feel I am really a pagan.....not a Witch....thou the ooky factor is cool....thus I love the Medieval Living involved.....ie...making my own Lotions & Potions....all these lotions and potions come from various books and off the net and I cannot remember their source....if you want me to remove any of these recipes because they are yours.....please email me and I'll happily do so.
First thing I'll do on this page is include the recipes....then I'll go into the medieval lifestyle thing.....although the recipes and their application are a big part of that medieval lifestyle.....and remember, I probably haven't tried most of these recipes out....and so I take no responsibility for the results thereof.
Bath Bags
*23cm diameter circles of any loosely woven material.....I use muslin
*2 tablespoons of bran
*1 tablespoon of desired herbs or flowers.....eg. lavender, sage, rosemary, chamomile, mint, rose, orange peel, lemon peel etc.....by themselves or a combination could be very refreshing
*elastic band, twine or ribbon.....enough to tie into a bow around the bag. Or that plus enough to hang around your taps or shower head ( yes bath bags can be used as shower bags. lol. You can either hang them on the shower head and wash in the liquid that passes through the bag and/or you can rub the bag all over your body, squeezing out the liquid as you go).
*Place the bran and herbs in the middle of the circle, gather up into a bundle and tie up with elastic band and/or twine and ribbon leaving enough to make a loop to hang over your tap or shower head....enjoy!
Bubble Bath
*1 bunch of whatever fragrant herb or flower you like....ie lavender.
*clean wide-necked jar with screw top lid
*1 large bottle of clear organic shampoo
*5 drops of essential oil ie. lavender
*strainer
*decorative bottle
*Place lavender bunch head downwards in the jar(cut stalks down if they are too big for the jar. Pour in the shampoo and the lavender oil. Seal jar and place on a sunny window sill for 2 - 3 weeks. Shake the jar occasionally during this time. Strain the liquid and pour into a decorative bottle, add 1 tablespoon to each bath...enjoy!
