For those of you who missed it, and for those who want to remember it again, here is the closing ceremony for the Reflecting Pool at eWorld, held in the late hours of the evening March 31, 1996.

Pulpiteer : Let's begin by making our consciousness come to this room at this time...
Pulpiteer : Shut off the rest of the world for now...
Pulpiteer : and be in communion with one another.
Pulpiteer : Our opening anthem for the night...
Pulpiteer : Is a Carolyn McDade song..

First Hymn:Spirit of Life

Spirit of Life, come unto me.
Sing in my heart all the stirring of compassion.

Blow in the wind, rise in the sea,
Move in the hand, giving life the shape of justice;

Roots hold me close Wings set me free.

Spirit of Life, come to me,

Come to me.

A Remembrance

Pulpiteer : It is a community with no north or south.
Pulpiteer : In it no east or west.
Pulpiteer : In its boundaries Rangoon is as close as Rochester, and
Australia is a keystroke apart from Zanzibar.
A Prayer
Pulpiteer : . I pray this night for the blessing of this community, so newly born each morning.
Pulpiteer : I pray also for the health, well-being and prosperity
Pulpiteer : of its members as they bring about a New Earth.
Pulpiteer : May their efforts and aim be lofty
Pulpiteer : May their caring for the world they create
Pulpiteer : be strong and unswerving.
Pulpiteer : May the human touch and the divine one as well
Pulpiteer : pour through them and change everything.
Pulpiteer : May joy and peace abide with them,
Pulpiteer : and may they conquer age-old prejudices
Pulpiteer : .May they remember, too, a place called eWorld.
Pulpiteer : And may what began here touch
Pulpiteer : all corners of the earth.
Pulpiteer :
Pulpiteer : Amen

Pulpiteer : We look forward to what is before us...
Pulpiteer : As expressed in the verses of this hymn:

Parting Hymn: Wonders Still the World Shall Witness

Verse One:

Wonders still the world shall witness
Never known in days of old,
Never dreamed by ancient sages,
Howsoever free and bold.

Sons and daughters shall inherit
Wondrous arts to us unknown,
When the dawn of peace and splendor
Over all the Earth is thrown.

Verse Two

They shall rule with winged freedom
Worlds of health and human good,
Worlds of commerce, worlds of science
All made one and understood.

They shall know a world transfigured,
Which our eyes but dimly see.
They shall make its towns and woodlands
Beautiful from sea to sea.

Verse Three:

For a spirit then shall move them
We but vaguely apprehend.
Aims magnificent and holy,
Making joy and labor friend.

Then shall bloom in song and fragrance
Harmony of thought and deed,
Fruits of love and peace and justice,
Where today we plant the seed.

Pulpiteer : Amen

Final Words and Benediction

Pulpiteer : Thank you all for lending your Spiritual gifts to this room.
Pulpiteer : We will continue to need and want them in the rooms where you'll find us next.

B.J. REN : My life has been very, very, blessed by knowing the people here in eWorld
Shining Fire : Is this the end of the ceremony, Pulpiteer?
Ms.tic : And to YOU for making it possible, Roy.
Pulpiteer : One more thing, Chris.
BUTTERFLYMAN : here in spirit to carry you all in my heart

Pulpiteer : A benediction from the Celtic tradition:

Pulpiteer : Deep peace of the Rolling Wave to you
Pulpiteer : Deep peace of the Starry Skies to you
Pulpiteer : Deep peace of the Quiet Earth to you
Pulpiteer : Deep peace of the One Who Brings Peace
Pulpiteer : To you.
Pulpiteer : Amen.
Shining Fire : Amen.
Pulpiteer : Go forth and keep the eFaith!
Pulpiteer : :-)>
