Here is another poem I have written. Hope you find some truths about living. Let me know which you like best.

WINTER SOLSTICE

Early ancestors feared the light was going away.

Today brave pansies bloom red blue and gold
Oak leaves swirl by on the chill wind
Early snow glistens on sun capped mountains.

Trees lighted like fireflies
Candles in windows of story book houses.
Cinnamon potpourri perfumes my house.

Christmas cards addressed and mailed
Seattle, Palm Beach, Berlin,Tokyo
Dallas, Zurich
Renewing memories of friends,
family and visits of years past.

A card from son Eric and wife vactioning at the beach
St.Olaf's Christmas celebration,
singers faces luminescent
The Hallalujah chorus played full volume
on the car stereo.

A strong hug from my companion Eugene,
the father of my children
Dinner with special friends tonight
Reunion with daughter Susan and family
an annual holiday rite.

Warmth, contentment
Remembering times past,
Anticipating years to come.
How can I be afraid?
