SOLITARY QUESTIONS

Once again

I sit alone

Pondering the night away;

Thinking of all the friends and faces.

Confusion sets in.

Love is life's main conflict.

Emotions run rampant.

Questions fill my mind.

Who, what, where, why?

WHY?

I sit and watch the stars fall,

And the moon shine.

Love is right next door.

It all belongs to someone else.

Friends and lovers merge as one;

Promises become faint memories.

Life is a dream,

Even in our waking hours.

I pray for yesterday

And I hope for tomorrow.

Days and nights become

A single memory.

Questions, memories, dreams, and reality,

Emotions and time, and love and life.

One day soon the sun will shine again,

And life will become easy,

Until next time. Richard Canyon - copr. 1991
