Love Simple

What a simple thing it is to say -

How little effort it requires.

"Good morning. How are you today?"

But, oh...! How it inspires.

"What may I do for you?" you ask,

Or perhaps, you say, "Shalom!"

And in the sunshine of your thought,

I walk all the way home.

"Good evening, Neighbor, you're looking well."

How easily you speak the phrase.

And suddenly, I AM feeling well.

Better than I've felt in days.

And if, by chance, it should be,

That you compliment me to another,

The happiness that this would bring me

Would cause me to Bless you, Brother.

And so, you see, the simplicity

And the power of the spoken word,

Is why I believe implicitly

That love is meant to be heard.

It is easier to love than to hate,

Because to love is ever right.

"What can I do for you, Friend, it's late,

Before I say Goodnight?"
