In the vast opaque darkness... Emotion erupts!

As volcanoes of searing tears

spew forth from eternal thought

and fiery rivers of empathy

burn canyons into my mind!

Cascading, confusing emotion

forms roads of hardened sadness

that cools too quickly to mourn.

Encrusted, forgotten sentiment

flows... burns... cools... hardens,

to allow itself to build

layer upon layer of protection

for my weeping, wounded soul.
