FIRST CLASS MAIL

Lonely parcels

Enveloped in sorrow,

seeking someplace

secure for tomorrow.

Sent from "nowhere"

the postmark unclear,

wrapped in rejection

with twine made of fear.

Stamps of anguish;

no zip codes - no home;

forgotten by sender,

forever to roam.

One place...another...

still no one to care;

small, tattered parcels,

so easy to tear.

Now they have wandered

too long, needing much;

and yet want so little,

just love's gentle touch.

Lonely children,

deliver'd to me

by God, in His mercy,

"Unwrap tenderly."
