Mom

by Kenneth J. Blanden

As Mother mine, I honor you
for all you did for me.
 For tactfullness for patience too
 for dauntless loyalty.
 Yet tis the things
 that may seem small
 which fondest thoughts impart
 Mother is on a pedestal
but Mom is in my heart.
I honor Mother, as I should
 serene and wise and calm
as Mother you were kind and good
but my real pal was Mom. 1
