The Marine Biological Laboratory at Woods Hole
Web Page -- Another general invertebrate-oriented page (mostly marine, obviously)...
Internet
Resource Guide for Zoology -- More general invertebrate stuff...
The Invertebrate
Biodiversity Home Page -- A page set up for the Intertidal Organisms class at my home
institution, UC Santa Cruz. Some good pix of intertidal invertebrates (and other critters) from central
California. Check it out -- it'll make Eric feel good!
The Animal Diversity Web -- A site similar
the the UCMP site listed above (from the University of Michigan).
A link to the Invertebrate Biology journal --
A good resource for finding out about recent research on a variety of invertebrates.
Brevard Zoo's Cambrian Explosion Exhibit -- Here's an interesting site that will take you on a tour of a
Cambrian ocean using 3D-like images.
It's the Cnidaria Home Page -- the ultimate (?) site for information about cnidarians (jellyfish, hydras, corals,
sea anemones) submitted by our resident cnidariologist, Allison Gong.
Ocean Planet's In Search of Giant Squid
Page -- Lots of good info about the most fearsome invertebrate on Earth (not counting parasitic
worms of various types), the giant squid. Find out about the recent Smithsonian expedition to
New Zealand to film a giant squid in the wild.
The Unnatural Museum: Giant Squid -- More
information about giant squids.
The Captured Cowrie -- Here's one gastropod link for your perusal...A
Web newsletter devoted to those excellent snails, the cowries.
Another Can of Worms: Phylum
Annelida -- A site devoted to the annelids (segmented worms).
This is cool. The
Parasitology Images List -- Check out some up-close-and-personal photos of everyone's
favorite animals -- parasites! Do you have a strong stomach?
Back to the NOSPINE Page or the
Fortress of Loligo Home Page...
Some general spineless links...
The University of California at Berkeley Museum of
Paleontology Web Page -- This page is outstanding. This is further proof that Rob
Guralnick is a god of some sort. The only problem is that there's nothing about MOLLUSCS,
despite the fact that I personally know most of the ten malacologists working there. Come on, guys!
More specific links for particular groups of invertebrates
Cnidaria
Mollusca
My primary interest is cephalopod molluscs (squids, octopuses, etc.), so at this point there's a bit of a
bias in these links. Sorry!
The Cephalopod Page -- A great page set up
by James Wood at Dalhousie to honor cephalopods of all types. Stop in and say "howdy"!
Cephalopoda
Gastropoda
Annelida
Nematoda -- Information
on one of the most speciose of all the animal groups, the nematodes.
Nematoda
Parasites
Miscellaneous Neat Invertebrate Stuff
Arthropod Origami!
-- Invertebrate art! This photos at this site are really neat, but I haven't explored it much.
Click the icon to go to the Sherman's Lagoon Web Page! I'll soon add some pro-invertebrate
S.L. strips -- Jim Toomey loves the NOSPINE concept! Now if we could
just get Gillian Anderson, Lou Reed, Helen Hunt, Stephen J. Gould and a few others to
endorse NOSPINE's goals...
