NOSPINE Invertebrate Sightings and Art of all Sorts

This is where to come to see the latest sightings of invertebrates in the mass media, contributed by our members. If you would like to contribute a sighting, drop me an e-mail. Include a brief description of the sighting, where you saw it (t.v., movie, magazine...etc.), when you saw it, and what you thought of it. Was it a positive depiction of an invertebrate?

For now, I'll also put some invertebrate-related art (probably mostly cartoons). Eventually there will be a separate page for such things...

For now, here's a cartoon contributed by one of our members, a man obsessed with tardigrades (and who isn't?). He used to work on the Canadian Pacific railroad, where most of the other guys...well, they weren't thinking about invertebrates, let's put it that way. Enjoy!

And yet more NEW art...this is my personal best in terms of objects d'art. It's a sketch of a cuttlefish, Sepia officinalis, from the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

And last, but undoubtedly as impressive as anything else here, an official GIF of the Sherman's Lagoon strip from Sunday, April 5. Its appropriateness for the NOSPINE page should quickly become apparent...

I promise there will be more here soon. Cut me some slack... I'm writing a dissertation (or trying to, anyway)! If you have sketches, comic strips, whatever, let me know and we'll put it on here. I'm envisioning an entire invertebrate art gallery here...who's with me?
