Interests
Here are some of the things I enjoy in life.
My tastes are actually quite eclectic. There are two areas
of entertainment that I enjoy. Those being movies and
music.
The only music I have a real aversion to is country
music. Yet there are some country songs that I enjoy.
Particularly older music, such as Johnny Cash and Hank
Williams Sr.
The only genre of film I am not
naturally attracted to would have to be that of comedy,
although there are acceptions to this as well.
As you can probably see from my page I am a poet as well as
a novelist. I have also produced a number of paintings over
the years.
(The above image is a painting by Salvador
Dali, the biggest influence on my own artwork. It is
entitled: Autumn Cannibilism.)
When I am not
obssessed with these
creative undertakings(which seems to be more and more
lately), I usually watch films or read. My reading
interests are primarily philosophical and spiritual works,
as well as poetry and all kinds of fiction. One of my
favorite fiction writers is Philip K. Dick. In my opinion
his work is the most profound I have ever read in the field
of science-fiction. It crackles with his own unique brand
of imagination and genius. I highly recommend it to
science-fiction fans.
I am also a home theater afficianado. And an audiophile. I
seem to have acquired a passion for dvd(digital versatile
disc)in the last year. This is truly the best medium for
film I have ever seen. And the good news is that it seems
to be catching on, unlike laserdics, which, although
embraced by the home theater fans, have gone virtually
unnoticed for a decade.
I also love nature. It is a continual source of inspiration
to me, especially in my artwork. My personal feeling about
the existance of God, is , that we have but to look around
and see the beauty and infinite wonder of life in order to
see that there is a God, and a reason we are here. That
beauty and wonder can easily be seen in Nature.
Forgive me if my thoughts seem to be wandering here. I
guess that's the point of this section. To explore for
myself, and to open up something to you.

(The two paintings here are by James O`Barr,
from his comic book: The Crow.)
As you can probably tell from my interest in The
Crow, I am a comic book fan. Particularly the darker
graphic novels such as The Sandman, and Batman:Arkham
Asylum. Comics, as well as film, played a vital role during
my childhood. It is my feeling that comic books are
generally deeply misunderstood by the masses, being thought
of as brainless diversion or a child's reading interest.
But I must say that comics have taught me much of what i
know as an artist. Most comics(admittedly more so ten years
ago) are cerebral and intellectual. They help to fuel the
imagination. In school many of the teachers I had scoffed
at the literary value of such material, but I can tell you,
I think many of these comics are as vital as any of the
so-called "classic" novels that students are forced to read
in school. And this is not to undermine the quality of
novels. I enjoy reading novels, as well as comics. And I
enjoyed many of the classics I read in school. What I
didn't enjoy was being forced to read them.

(The above image is the graphic I made for the play:Battle
of Angels.)
I also love acting and poetry....esp.
Dorothy Parker.
