The Hymn of "Pek Eth-ronos" is said during the Twelfth hour prayer of Good Friday.
That tune was an ancient egyptian burial tune.
The first part is sad (for the death of the pharoah)
The second part has a happier tune (relatively) because the pharoah is united with the sun god
So.... the fathers took that tune and put the Psalm (Psalm 45:6,8) to it
We are sad at Christ's death...but we are happy for eternal life!!!

DID YOU KNOW...
What the Holy "Eskeem" is?
It is a leather vestment granted to a virtuous monk which signifies a certain code of fasting, solitude, worship, and silence.
From its shape we get the term "cross bearer."
Traditionally, only someone wearing the Holy "Eskeem" can grant someone else to wear it!
