Faith that is Real
Steve Wiggins
Remember Big Tent Revival, that group that gave us, "Two Sets of Joneses"? Well, their lead singer, Steve Wiggins, is back with a very unique debut solo album. You know that it is going to be a good CD, from the first track, which lyrically reminds you of some of those songs that came off those old CD's where the songs were Bible verses and the CD was supposed to help you remember Scripture. He sings that "everything works together for the good of those who love God." The second song seems to somewhat continue this trend by singing that "the lord said to my Lord, O Lord you are greater than angels." This song describes Jesus as "greater than angels". There are many other highlights on this CD. The title track is an anthem that every believer wants to sing, that they want to have a "faith that is real". Very similar the sixth song is a cry that every believer wants to attain to, "as long as I have life in me I want to be living for the Lord."
The only flaw is that musically the songs start to sound similar for most of the second half of the CD. After thoroughly enjoying the first half of the CD I found myself listening to about a minute per each of the last about five tracks.
This is one of the most unique CDs of the year. Many of the lyrics are obviously taken straight from Scriptures, but they are done so in an amazingly unique way.
