Investigators: The following items are just a sample of equipment that you might use in your activities. This is certainly not an exhaustive list. If you have seen or imagined a gadget that you would like to have, describe it to the Administator and/or send the URL where found. Delievery time is variable. Often it may be faster to procure the item or items through your own channels.

Every investigator has a case expense account. All equipment will be charged against that account. During debriefing of individual cases, the agent will have to account for all items used in that case. An investigator that abuses his or her allotment, or constantly loses or damages equipment will face disciplinary action.

Eagle Eye Tracking System--Using a wrist-watch sized mobile satellite tracking system, the investigator in the field can precisely pinpoint either their own location or that of an assigned target. The investigator calls Eagle Eye station and requests a position fix. A satellite ground station transmits via satellite the position request to the Eagle Eye communicator. The communicator responds and the satellite relays the position report to Eagle Eye for processing.

The communicator, which comes in a variety of configurations--the standard being a slightly oversized digital watch--weights just a few ounces. It can also be used by the wearer to directly determine his/her location without the call to the station by an on-board request. The location is given in Latitude/Longitude. Weight-neg. Cost-$2500.

Pen Video Camera - B&W-3.6mm Pinhole Lens--Made by Israeli Labs, High resolution 380 tv line image, low light 0.2 lux,92 degree wide angle f.ov., 12v DC nicad battery or external 12v adaptor for car battery as an option. 1000 foot line of sight transmitter included, in UHF frequencies. Weight-neg. Cost-$2350.

Glock 27

Glock, Model 27, .40 S & W--The Model 27 is one of two new compact pistols from Glock. These new compacts combine Glock technology with firepower, simplicity, interchangeability and precision, all in a package so compact and concealable, they fit in the palm of your hand. The Glock 27 carries 9+1 rounds of .40 caliber. Some law enforcement officers who field tested the Model 27 have dubbed it the "Pocket Rocket." As with all Glock pistols, it features the Glock Safe Action. Weight: 2 lbs, Cost: $450.

21st Century Hard Armor Concealable Spectra-Flex Armor--This is the front line in concealable body armor for undercover work. Light weight, with a low visual profile. Comes in a variety of colors. Threat levels IIa, II, IIIa. Weight and Cost variable.

Olympus DL-300

Olympus DL-300 Digital Camera--This digital camera represents a new generation of digital camera technology. Compact with unequaled clarity and resolution(1,024-by-768, it also functions admirably in low light situations. It also comes in a professional harden case to protect against the extremes of the field. Weight-with carrying case 1.5 lbs. Cost-$1300.

Motorola Astro Saber

Motorola Astro Saber II Two-Way Radio--ASTRO digital technology represents a revolution in two-way radio communications. It delivers consistent audio quality throughout your coverage area, enhanced signalling and control, greater spectral efficiency and a full range of encryption capabilities.

Ruggedized for all sorts of field uses, the Saber II operates in VHF, UHF, 800 and 900 MHz Ranges. It has a both analog and digital capabilites. It comes with a hands-free headset for VOX(Voice Operated) and earplug for less visible operation. Weight-.5 lbs Cost-$275.

Digital Electronic Countermeasures Model(DECM)--The digital electronic countermeasure detector, model DCEM, was designed to detect the presence of RF transmitting devices. The DECM has the a ability to demodulate the audio and allow the user to "hear" the transmitted signal. In addition, it will also provide the user with a digital readout and signal strength of the detected frequency. A "data" port is also provided for connection to a personal computer. This may be used for logging frequency information.

The DECM is completely portable and powered from an internal; rechargeable battery supply. This unit provides a wide range of RF detection capabilities for the electronic countermeasure technician. Weight-2.5 lbs Cost-$750.

Features
  • detects RF & AC line carrier transmitters / tape recorders
  • digital frequency readout 50hz - 3 ghz
  • audio demodulation from 30mhz - 2.2 ghz
  • relative signal strength indicator
  • data port for connecting to a PC
  • portable, hand held, rechargeable battery pack
  • demodulated audio is received via "omni directional antenna"
  • signal strength is received via "directional antenna" indicating transmitter location
NIGHTSIGHTSM-100 Texas Instruments NIGHTSIGHT™ Thermal Energy Camera--

Heat-sensing night vision reveals hidden threat. Even in the darkest night or deepest shadows, people or vehicles are immediately visible with the NIGHTSIGHT™ thermal security camera from Texas Instruments. NIGHTSIGHT generates a clear picture even when no light is available. The camera uses Forward-Looking Infrared (FLIR) detection technology to measure heat emitted by all objects under surveillance. Warm objects create large heat differences compared to cool objects. NIGHTSIGHT's ability to detect heat variations to a fraction of a degree means people, animals and recently driven vehicles clearly stand out against a cooler background. Day and night, regardless of light conditions, the camera generates a stable, real-time video image that can feed into most existing CCTV systems. You'll easily pick out suspicious persons and activities' even against a cluttered background. NIGHTSIGHT detects emitted heat rather than reflected light. Which means if a flare or bright light is shone into the camera, it won't shut down or wash out at critical times like some other night-vision devices.

The portable version is somewhat bulkier than a normal VHS video camera and requires a a video recording device: Weight-3.5 lbs. Cost-$1500.
