Silence everywhere
wind through an open door
blows softly as some paper
on the floor dances
- as if in a ballet.

A deafening shrill
breaks this pleasant solitude
and the paper left its ballet
to a more intensive dance.

Laughter, chatter everywhere
of strange oddities
of what will happen
when once this day is near.

Then another deafening shrill
sounds
and the laughter stops
and breaks into a run
from fear of being late.

Doors slam
and the mild atmosphere
takes place as before
until the day is done.
