What is ICQ?

ICQ is an Internet program that allows you to search for anyone online. It also continuously tells you which of your friends and colleagues are online. The program runs in the background, taking up a minimum amount of memory and net resources. While you work on other applications, ICQ alerts you when friends sign on, allowing you to work efficiently while having a whole range of Internet functions at your fingertips. Among the functions available are: chat, message, e-mail, URL and file transfer. These functions are performed through external applications that you already have set up, so you don't have to change any of the programs with which you are working.

For a complete list of ICQ's features look at

Why would I want to join?

Unlike webrings ICQ does not give more exposure to your websites, so you might wonder what is the point in joining? However, the answer is very simple. ICQ is simply a program that runs on your computer making your communications with your friends easier, at the same time, it allows you to ignore people that you don't want to talk to or ask for your authorization whenever somebody wants to talk to you or send you a message.

But why would I want to join the Odessa ICQ List, you might ask. Well the reasons for that are also very simple. If you are interested in finding your friends or having someone find you or simply talking to other people that have something in common with you, it would make sense to add yourself to the list so that others may contact you.

Do I qualify?

To qualify all you need is to have the ICQ program (if you don't, you can download it at Mirabilis) and to have something to do with Odessa, Ukraine.
