Introduction to the Site

Goal: To offer an easy way to find free online courses on the internet and world wide web.

Objectives

  1. To help people find free educational opportunities.
  2. To stimulate learning via the internet.
  3. To encourage those that are able to offer free online courses.

Development

The site has been created and is managed by the members of class 825: "Web Pages that Make a Difference" at
Spectrum Virtual University,
which is a free online school. We are known in class as the "emailers" team or study group.

The Emailers' Team Information Site has background information on how we organize ourselves. If you have input, suggestions, or general comments for our page, please contact us by email. We also want to add new relevant links and resources, so feel free to tell us. Hundreds of messages have been exchanged to begin this web page project. The team members are located in Israel, Malaysia, Quebec, Mexico and in the U.S. states of California, Massacheusetts, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas, Washington.

In doing this page, we are learning the following:

  1. How to be an effective team -- to devise and organize plans of action;
  2. How to search for the information we need for our site;
  3. How to organize our search;
  4. How to develop a unique and attractive presention;
  5. How to have everyone on the team learn new HTML skills.

This project is a learning experiment in teamwork and cooperation.
Inspiration is provided by the leadership of Virtual University instructors Jean Ghatten and JL Masters.
