Behind the Mask

My name is Jesus Pantel. My computer nickname is MetalAxe. The reason for the nick is because I play guitar ("Axe") and I am into heavy "Metal".

My homepage being called the "House of MetalAxe" is an allusion to astrology. One is born under a certain sign or house (MetalAxe) with certain planets ascending or descending. Well, in the House of MetalAxe all "planets" (Anarchy-Zapotec) are always ascending. Both because it sounds good to go in alphabetical order and because your consciousness is being raised. You are literally enlightened : )

I graduated in December 1999 from Texas A&M University-Kingsville in Kingsville, Texas. Kingsville is about 40 miles south of Corpus Christi and about 150 miles south of San Antonio. I used to be a Mechanical Engineering major but I wasn't that good at math and I've always hated it. I tried out for a part in a play called Orestes by Euripides (Ancient Greek playwright) and, to my surprise, got the part of Tyndareus. The next semester, I changed my major to Theatre Arts. I'm pretty good at it, but I didn't know if I'd be good enough to make a living at it, so I decided to also double majore in History. Since then, I have decided to make my living in theatre and plan to one day own my own Theatre Company. In order to help realize that dream, I am studying Theatre Management at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

My acting experience, in chronological order, includes the following:

The Butler in The Importance of Being Earnest (One-Act Adaptation)
A Guard in A Midsummer Night's Dream

History interests me because I like learning about different cultures, how all the world religions are related, and the history of Anarchy.

Anarchy & Me

So when did I get into anarchy? I remember in junior high I thought that it was Satanic and didn't like it. But then sometime in high school I realized the dictionary definition and it meant no government. I started slowly to absorb anarchist ideas. All seniors at my high school had to take a government class. I remember that we went to the library and watched Clinton's '92 inaugurration. I wore an anarchy t-shirt and my teacher got mad. In college I discovered the 'net and all the anarchy information that's out there, and that's when I think I started considering myself an anarchist.
