Spelling Hints

The word accommodate is spelled with two sets of double letters. (Thanks to my former students at Marion High School in Marion, Illinois, for the mnemonic: Two Chicks and two Men on a date.) The word believe is spelled with an ie (think:  I did not believe his lie).

There is A RAT in the word separate!

Every one (two words) refers to each individual in a group.  Everyone (one word) refers to the group as an entirety.  Every one of the children is beautiful.  Everyone wanted to take their pictures.

There is also a RAT in the word congratulate!

The word receive is spelled with an ei (think:  Old McDonald received a farm, e-i-e-i-0)!

All right is the opposite of all wrong--and is two words.

The word grammar has two A's (think:  I made two A's on my grammar test).
Business has the word bus at the beginning The word license contains the word lice (think:  the lice got their drivers' licenses).

While the number four contains the letter u, the number forty does not.  (Think:  U no longer exist after FORTY!)
