Good health, a fulfilling career and honor among one's peers are signs of success. Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa Community College (LCOOCC) provides opportunities for students and community members to successfully achieve their goals. LCO college has several activities planned to address health, careers, and honor.
The health symposium, "Holistic Approaches to Healing," features Rufus Good Striker, an herbalist and tribal elder fromthe Blackfeet Nation of Alberta, Canada.
Laurie Halverson-Jenson, a health instructor at LCOOCC, said Good Striker is a national presentor.
"He talks about using all of the earth's vegetation like plants, flowers, and herbs for healing and medicinal purposes," she said.
Good Stiker and scholars from regional universities will address issues in holistic healing, diabetes treatment and research, cancer treatment and research, and herbal patents. There is a small registration fee for the symposium. College staff members Lynette Tribble and Debra Anderson can give more information.
