Lt. Tom Davis

Tom is an original member of the Youth Relations Bureau having joined the Collier County Sheriff's Office in 1977. It seems wherever he goes in Collier County, someone knows him from his days as the deputy assigned to East Naples Middle School. A former student even recognized him while he was on a cruise to the Bahamas. Tom has been certified as a School Resource Officer Practitioner by the Florida Association of School Resource Officers. He serves as a recruiter and ombudsman for the sheriff's office. He enjoys weight lifting. Tom is married and has a son and a daughter.

John has had a long relationship with the Collier County Sheriff's Office having started out as an explorer. He became a dispatcher after graduation from high school, then qualified as a certified law enforcement officer. John has served as a deputy at all school levels during his tenure in YRD before becoming a supervisor. John is certified as a School Resource Officer Practitioner by the Florida Association of School Resource Officers. He is an avid Miami Dolphins fan and enjoys working out with weights and swimming. He is married and has one son.

Supervisor of the Junior Deputy Program, Coordinator of Special Events. Joe has been with the CCSO since 1983. He is a Florida native and attended school in Naples. He began working with the CCSO in the jail where he was a supervisor before joining the Youth Relations Bureau. He is a certified DARE instructor and designatied School Resoursc Officer Practitioner through the National Association of School Resource Officers and the Florida Association of School Resource Officers. Joe is a firearms instructor with the agency. He enjoys hunting.

Supervisor of the DARE program, ASSIST program, grant writing. Dennis has been with the CCSO since 1988 after moving to Naples from the Chicago area. He has worked in YRD since 1990. Dennis is DARE certified and has been awarded designation as a School Resource Officer Practioner from the National Association of School Resource Officers and the Florida Association of School Resource Officers. He is a PR-24 instructor and a member of the CCSO recruiting team. He received his B.S. degree from Northern Illinois University and enjoys computers.

Jim is an avid scuba diver and big game hunter. He joined YRD March 1997 and immediately began teaching the DARE program. He joined the CCSO in 1989 and is dual certified in corrections and in law enforcement. Jim has an AA degree from Edison Community College. He serves on the agency dive team. He is married and hoping to increase the size of his family in the near future.

Rich works at the Golden Gate Middle School. He is originally from the Pittsburgh suburb of Aliquippa which might explain why he such an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. After high school, Rich enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served 4 years spending his time in Okinawa, Korea, and at Camp Lejeune, N.C. Rich then joined the Collier County Sheriff's Office, first working in the jail, then moving on to road patrol, before being selected for YRD in 1996. He is a DARE instructor and is also a student as he is working on his undergraduate college degree.

Dan is a SW Florida original. He is one of very few who can say he was actually born and raised here. Dan is a DARE instructor and is a deputy at Gulf Coast High School. He stays very involved with children in Collier County. A graduate of FSU, Dan came to the CCSO from the Florida Game and Freshwater Fish Commission where he was an officer. Off duty, Dan is the head baseball coach at Naples High School and loves the Atlana Braves. But if you really want to get his attention, tell him you have a hunting lease available. He is always looking for one.

Joe was selected for YRD in 1996, is currenly working at the Naples High School and teaching DARE. He is originally from West Bend, WI and describes himself as a "dedicated cheesehead" which means he loves the Green Bay Packers. Joe joined the CCSO in 1989 and became a K-9 handler in 1992. He earned an A.A. degree from Edison Community College. Joe is married and has two children. Off duty, Joe like to golf, play tennis, and walk the beach with his family. He is also a JEEP enthusiast and is planning on starting a new customization soon.
