Mays combine for 37 points, lead North past WRV

Sean May scored 24 points and his brother Scott May had 13 to lead Bloomington North to an 81-32 win over White River Valley Friday night at North's gym.

The eighth-ranked Cougars (8-2) built a 26-8 lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back against the Wolverines (4-5).

Sean May, the junior forward, also had 10 rebounds, three blocks, three assists and two steals in 22 minutes of action. Meanwhile, Scott May, the senior guard, directed a Cougar offense that worked at a high level of efficiency. Coach Tom McKinney's team made 30 of 54 from the floor (56 percent), 15 of 18 from the line (83 percent) and 6 of 13 from behind the arc (47 percent).

Sean May, coming off a career high 40 points against Owen Valley earlier in the week, went 9 of 15 from the floor, including 2 of 3 on three-pointers. He made all four of his free throw attempts.

The other double figure scorer for North was Kelvin Boatner. The senior guard had 12 points. Moussa Kanta, a junior forward, came off the bench to score nine.

White River Valley was led by Jordan Schantz with 11 points, all of them scored in the second half.

The Cougars will host Indianapolis Perry Meridian next Saturday night.
