Lab 8

June 5, 2003

1. Lab 8: Write a science article for The Alligator based on in-lecture interiview of UF shark expert George Burgess. Use a soft lead. Sprinkle quotes throughout your article. Keep a general audience in mind, so don't use too much scientific jargon. Please be careful with fact errors. Proofread very carefully before turning in.

2. Make sure you have a focus that functions as a thread that keeps your story together.

3.Keep in mind your audience is UF students and faculty, not a small group of scientists.

4. Lab 9: News release (public relations).

5. Choose a restaurant to write your review for Lab 10 (June 12). Go to the restaurant, eat, take notes and prepare to write your review.
