May 27, 2003 |
1. Lab 5: Writing a news-feature story on a critter gone wild. Your story needs to be 1 and 1/2 to two pages long. It will go in The Gainesville Sun. Include a soft lead and a nut graph. Use three direct quotes with proper attribution. Use paraphrases, too. Fact errors count -50. 2. Lab 6 will be based on your interview of a classmate. This is a personality profile -- a feature story. Use a soft lead. Get your interviews done ASAP. 3. Make sure you attend lecture and read the newspaper every day for a half hour. Bring a copy of the Alligator and your AP Stylebook to class. 4. Don't forget your individual conferences. 5. Return Lab 4. Update your grade grids. 6. Make sure you have sent off your cover letters and resumes to the media company you want to intern with. 7. Mid-term exam is Thursday, June 29. Study guide will be distributed in lecture. |
