1. Individual conferences. We will start having individual conferences this week. Be on time. 2. Lab instructor will pair you up with a classmate for Lab 6 personality profile. Rough draft is due at the beginning of Lab 6. Don't procrastinate. Get your interivew completed ASAP. Remember the meo to your lab instructor was due Wednesday. 3. Correcting sentences for mechanics and AP style. 4. Analyzing news. We will analyze news articles from the newspapers. Be thinking about what news values play into each story. Ask yourself: "What is the story here?" 5. Lab 4: News story with multiple sources. Quotes are this way: "Blah, blah," said Joe Jones, a deputy with thek Alachua County Sheriff's Department. Then: "Yadda, yadda, yadda," Jones said. 6. Read, read, read the papers, at least 25 minutes a day. 7. Update your grade grids. Bring with you to the individual conferences. 8. Also, make sure that you send out your cover letter and resume as soon as you have made corrections. Take charge of your professional career. 9. Make sure you attend lecture. It makes a big difference in your grade. 10. Be thinking ahead about your portfolios. This is extra credit, but it is highly recommend that all of you do it. |
