Greg Borchard Greg Borchard is in his second year as a lecture assistant and his fourth year as a lab instructor for Writing for Mass Communication. He is a doctoral student in journalism and has been MMC 2100 lecturer during summer semester. His studies at the University of Florida have focused on the history of journalism, specifically the political agenda of The New York Tribune prior to the Civil War. He has a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota. His master's thesis examined editorials in Southern newspapers written in reaction to the passage of the 15th Amendment. Borchard contributed articles to the West Encyclopedia of American Law, which featured biographical entries and articles on legal topics. He has written professionally for daily and weekly newspapers. His work includes correspondence for The Gainesville Sun's business and features sections. He was a columnist, staff writer and arts and entertainment writer for the Minnesota Daily. Other journalistic pursuits include reporting and freelance writing for suburban newspapers and satirical publications. During the summer, Borchard teaches one lab section of MMC 2100. He was named the UF College of Journalism and Communications' top teaching assistant for 2001-02. |
