  • The third graders at Mineral Springs School have had an adventurous year. We took several educational trips and worked hard to meet our academic goals.

The first trip we took was to the Moorehead Planetarium at UNC Chapel Hill. We learned how pollution and litter damages our environment. Our second trip was to see the play, "THE JUNGLE BOOK". This play focused on good character traits and this is an important aspect of our school. For our final trip, we went to the Lions Club Park in Ellerbe. This was a day of celebrating our accomplishments. We reached our academic goals!!!

The main objective of the third grade is to meet our reading and math goals. We do this by showing gains on the end of grade test. We accomplished this by working hard everyday and doing our assignments. This year the third graders exceeded every goal that was set. This is a hugh feat.

All of the children at Mineral Springs School are very special. Our main focus for the entire school is character education. We work everyday on showing respect, being responsible and caring for each other. By focusing on those character traits everyday our school provides an excellent environment for learning and fun.
