“Falling Towers”

Pain, Anger, Disgust

These are all feelings we must overcome

For the pain from the infamy

Will bring us no gain, and

The anger from these

Foreign strangers will only

Bring more hate and more to

Be slain. Our disgust leads

To distrust that must

Be vanquished to illuminate

The abuse of any certain race.

These are the feelings

Of many abroad, for better

Or worse, World Wars, or

Remorse.

So whatever you may be

A Jew, Christian, or Moslem maybe,

Bend your head down with me

And say a prayer for

Those who no longer

Show Pain, Anger, and Distrust

Summary

This poem is written to show some of the feelings people may feel about the aftermath of the World Trade Center disaster. A person has to remember that although they may feel all sorts of pain and anguish for the events that have occurred, there are those that died in the WTC that will lay silent for all eternity. So, while we may attack and repent against the evils of the world, we must also show support for the immediately affected people of the attack.
