All our breaths were swept away
The country got stabbed in the back with a knife
Forever those damn terrorists changed our life
The city was blossoming like a flower
Then Bin Laden used all of his power
He failed to realize we are the United States
The land and home of the many greats
Brothers and sisters came together
We all washed away the black weather
The skies remain blue and full of color
Much brighter than any other
The twin towers stood tall and bright
Americans knew we would have to fight
As a country we may reach recession
Not too far away, I see perfection
And yes maybe again the Yankees will win the World Series
We will remain strong from Texas to Lake Erie
Firefighters were put through very much fright
Policeman as well helped bring the through the light
Our great leaders will us succeed
Hopefully never again will America bleed.
On September 11, 2001 I was sitting in English class in the library and I was online watching what I thought was just another Internet scam. I thought someone hacked into the Yahoo website again and put some phony pictures up of the world trade center up in flames. Unfortunately, I was wrong, very wrong, never been so wrong in my life. I will forever remember the feelings that went through my mind and where I was and whom I was talking to. Then I saw it on TV. I couldn’t believe my eyes. This poem helped me express my sad emotions, but at the same time emotions that make me sure America will succeed. It's sad, but a horrific incident such as this can bring a nation together and make people think realistically. September 11 is now very far from us and a blossoming future is very close.
