As we delve further into the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, tragedy, the question arises of whether or not the former Twin Towers should be rebuilt. Polls have been taken, newspapers and TV stations have asked the population their opinion, but the consensus is still unclear. In my opinion, I think it should be rebuilt to the original size, if not bigger. We have to show to the world and the Taliban that we are strong, and cannot be diminished. By rebuilding the World Trade Center, we will show that they can knock us down, but it is only a temporary setback, and we are strong enough to bounce right back.
We hear endless titles of “America Rebuilding” and “America Recovering”, and see endless specials about individuals whose loves were touched by the tragedy, or interviews with families or survivors. The question is when will America really be recovered? When can the media move on to report on different topics? When will radio stations be allowed to play all songs, including ones with references to flying or death? When will people not be “sensitive" toward certain movies or television shows? And when will America really be ready to rebuild the World Trade Centers? My answer is, hopefully soon.
