K-5 TOURNAMENT RESULTS

 

On April 5, the Eagle Point Speech Team hosted its annual k-5 elementary school tournament. Approximately 300 elementary students from eight Rogue Valley schools competed in six different events. The following are the results:

Expository Speaking: First Place: Jennifer Phariss (White City Elementary); Second Place: Gina Garatto (White City); Third Place: Audrey Verret (White City); Finalist: Brian Martinez (White City).

Serious Interpretation: First Place: Tara Whipple (Shady Cove/Elk Trail); Second Place: Kristyn Nance (Little Butte School); Third Place: Ashley Dougherty (Little Butte)

Finalists: Skylee Curtis (Little Butte), Travis Rigot (Prospect), Brittany Sinclair (Prospect), and Emily Gilman (Little Butte).

Humorous Interpretation: First Place: Peter Bilden (Shady Cove/Elk Trail); Second Place, Logan Herzog (Shady Cove/Elk Trail); Third Place: Alyssa McCellan (Little Butte); Finalists: Clint Schleigh (Eagle Point H.S. Eaglets); Mandee Light (Roosevelt), sand Megan Breedlove (Roosevelt).

Poetry: First Place: Kayla Strahm (Hoover); Second Place: Jessica Reid (Hoover); Third Place(tie): Courtney Icenhower (White City); and Courtney Re (Shady Cove/Elk Trail);

Finalists: Jennifer King (Prospect), and Nicole Northrup (Hoover).

Children’s Literature: First Place: Jennifer Phariss (White City); Second Place: Michael McNull (Shady Cove/ Elk Trail); Third Place: Tiffany Willis (Shady Cove/ Elk Trail); Finalists: Katie Bates (Hoover), Lauren Gambee (Hoover), and Kyle Dunlap (Hoover).

Dual Interpretation: First Place: Rex Bufalino and Megan Breedlove (Roosevelt); Second Place: Kirsten Emigh and Dawn Wilkerson (Little Butte School); Third Place: Rilee Jefferson and Tiffany Willis (Shady Cove/Elk Trail); Finalists: Taylor Jefferson and Jenna Wallace (Shady Cove/ Elk Trail). Derek Tuttle and Travis Hoover (Little Butte), Katie Holcomb and Kayla Sutton (White City), and Katie Sours and Anna Sours (Roosevelt).
