Ashton's Cleft Lip Surgery

On October 29th, Mommy, Daddy, Mama and I went to Davenport, IA to the Genesis Hospital. It was early when we had to go to the hospital. I am so thin you can see my bones!
We had to registar at the hospital before I had surgery. Daddy had to fill out the paperwork.
We had to visit a number of nurses and hospital personnel who weighed and measured me and asked lots of questions!
I really got tired of all the poking and prodding--especially because I was not able to eat anything this morning!
The sturgeon, I mean surgeon, Dr. James Paul is a dentist, plastic surgeon, and medical
doctor! He went to school longer than I've been alive! He worked on my lip and nose.
Another doctor administered the anesthesia, and another doctor put the tubes in my ears!
I had more doctors and nurses working on me than in some hospitals!
I was pretty tired when I came out of surgery. The surgery took an hour less than
expected. Mommy, Daddy, and Mama were really surprised to see me so soon! This
is me and one of the nurses in post-op.
This is me sleeping soundly after surgery.
Although I was hooked up to an IV, Mommy and Daddy wanted to take me home so I had to eat
my milk from a syringe so that I did not pull on the stitches.
I am so strong that it takes three people to feed me--one to hold me down, another
to load and squirt the milk into my mouth with the syringe and the third to take
pictures!
