I study Aeronautical &
Astronautical Engineering just because of a simple reason, I love Science
and Airplanes.
When I was a kid, I used
to play lots of Lego's, and I always designed them. I designed a bunch
of planes and cars and start a fight between them, LOL. I have started
to have the thoughts of studying Aeronautics since when I was Senior Middle
One, which is the forth year during high school, and that is when I started
to have a passion for planes.
When I was the age of 11,
my family moved to a place where is very near to the International Airport
in Malaysia, the planes were irritating for they are very noisy. But for
me, I like watching them, and I started to think, "I think I want to design
an airplane which has no sound"; that is impossible in reality, but that
has set a dream for me to achieve.
One reason I choose Aeronautical
Engineering is because I think it is the safest field in engineering. Chemical
Engineers maybe die with cancer or in an explosion, LOL; Civil Engineers
have to take too many responsibilities and it is dangerous to walk in construction site; Mechanical Engineers will maybe get their hands cut
with a machine; Petroleum Engineers maybe burnt by fire; Nuclear Engineers
maybe suffer from gamma rays and get cancer, LOL and etc. While Aerospace
Engineers mostly sit in an office designing airplanes or observe a flight
test.
Another reason I choose
Aeronautical Engineering is that I want to breakthrough myself, showing
people I am not only artistical, philosophical but also scientifical. Not
just emotional and feelings but also rational. Most artists art poor in
their mathematics and physics, that is why I want to challenge myself from
that stereotype. I have succeeded, but the only thing that scares me is
the financial problem. We have many dreams, but reality kept on stopping
us.
I think that having a dream
is normal, even a dream which is not practical is normal, for we cannot
just do things according to the society's needs. Our goal is learning,
not following others but following what we need. Even if we failed to find a job, we can still be
lecturers, LOL. But no matter what, we still need to find a similar job,
for we need to show people what we have learned is not wasted. And beside,
we need achievements to let us feel that we are recognized.
