Chapter 6
The Engulfing Blackness...and the Awakening
by Aimee

Suddenly, a miss-aimed pigeon jab hit Iggy square on the chin. He reeled backwards, fell on the concrete, and was enveloped in blackness.

Slowly, the world came back into focus. A bright light was shining above Iggy's head, and blurry creatures surrounded him. He realized he was on a bed, and the pigeon gang was back.

"Nice to see ya' again," one said. "Quite a coincidence that you conked out just as the Big Kahuna wants to see ya'."

Iggy sat up and tried to find his bearings...the room was bleak and quite small, with simple rock walls, no decorations of any kind. A sturdy metal door was across from him. He tried to peer through the small frosted glass window, but was unable to glimpse what lay beyond.

"You know who was lying in that bed a few days ago? Sammy...the boss had him over for some entertainment at his last big party. Sammy was a real good piano player...too bad the lid of the piano fell on his head when he was checking a loose hammer. A real shame. Big Kahuna was shocked, of course, and brought him in here to lie down...but of course it was too late..." said one of the brawny pigeons.

A million thoughts flashed through Iggy's mind at once...a big party...of course everyone would have been there, inlcluding that yappy poodle...anyone with a motive would have had the chance to bump off Sammy.

Then, the door handle turned, and Iggy thought, "The Big Kahuna."

What does Iggy do next?

  1. pretends to black out again
  2. waits to see if it really is the Big Kahuna
  3. jumps to his feet and begins battling the pigeon thugs
