The War is Over

George H. Nance, Sr. wrote in the Nance history:

On the day the Japanesse surrended, George, using as a desk, the tailgate of a two-ton truck, drew this picture and microfilmed it to us. A few days later he wrote stating that he now knew that he was coming home but didn't know when, but that he could speak with much more certainly than before Japan's willingness to surrender.
