THOUGHTS ON LOVING YOU
Turtle doves are a symbol of love,
Red roses too.
Golden rings intertwined speak of love
And lavender blue.
The ivy on the old garden wall,
The fragrant violet,
Marigolds in the late fall,
The forget-me-not.
But for me, love has a deeper hold
Than natures scene.
Although they are good to behold,
But as in a dream.
Turtle doves and flowers are fine
If from the heart,
Not just show, but full of love sublime
Not playing a part.
Love to tear the very heart strings
And still love true.
Love that always give thanks and sings
Even when blue.
Love that is strong enough forever more,
Improving day by day.
Love that holds no fear, one that it so pure
That God made it that way.
This is how I see the love given to me
From heaven above.
This is why I hope for heaven and eternity,
To be together in love.
This is my special dream, my aim in life,
For I love you dear,
More than words can say, more than a good wife,
Living as if God were near.
