WHERE DID YOU COME FROM

Where did you can from, my tiny new born child?
Look! You are so perfect, skin so soft, eyes so bright,
So helpless cradled in my arms, you so sweet and mild.
You must have come from somewhere, my child of light.

I came from high above, where celestial choirs sing
Praises to our loving God, in dulcet tones so sweet.
All I heard were loving words that peace does bring,
I walked in gardens sweet, and every day God did meet.

I learned many wonderful things with angels by my side,
They told me I would forget this world that I now leave behind,
But you saw the glory, we were friends, so my joy I cannot hide
That I am born to someone who up there was good and kind.

Help me keep the veil twixt heaven and earth quite thin,
Help guide my faltering feet along the path that is right,
That I may return to heaven, hear the angels sing again,
For I already miss my home above, filled with wondrous light.

Your eyes, dear little one speak a thousand words to me,
You are so very precious, you are on loan from God above,
We will grow together, learning day by day about eternity,
Nothing can go wrong my sweet, if we always live in love.
