Did you, child of darkness, ever have a chance of the pure light?
You were raised amidst the false garish lights of night.
A few tried to show you the light once, you sent them away,
Did anyone else perchance point out a better way?
Did you really have a fair chance of truth in your life?
With riches and glamour, no real worries or strife,
You lived the only life you knew, albeit, in the dark
You did not know of God or on His path how to embark,
Can you really be blamed for turning one away?
Those friends never came back to show you the right way.
Dear soul lost in the darkness of ignorance and fear,
Raise your head a little, a small candle may be near,
For who was there to teach you of His great love?
Of the riches of the mansions built up above ?
No Sunday school teacher to tell Jesus tales
No parents there to tuck you in with love that never fails,
No hymn sung on childish lips in praises unto Him,
No one to teach you how to just let the Saviour in.
Ill whisper His name through the darkness,
On the wings of a silent prayer that will caress
Your sorrowing soul. So lift your head I pray,
For there may come from that small candle a ray,
A small beacon of light to your dark spot,
For He loves you in your darkness, loves you a lot.
It will kindle your own light within your heart,
Stretch out and call for help, Hell do His part.
Hell send a messenger carrying truth and light
To your world of darkness, listen with all your might.
Listen to the truth, and it will set you free
From the darkest corner in which you could ever be.
And if you see the error of your wicked ways,
And suffer a little longer and then praise Him always,
Then the light will shine in your darkened soul,
It comes from His love, youll have a new goal,
A goal that you could not obtain in your mortal frame
To serve Him who created worlds for you now know His name.
