MEDITATION

Some say to sit and meditate is a waste of time,
That it is being idle, and shows a weaker mind.
Yet after prayer or reading scripture the thing to do
Is stop and really meditate, then God’s will you’ll find.

Answers to questions, the answer to a prayer is found
In dwelling in ones mind the precious truths we know.
Let our minds drift upward to the throne of God,
And He will pour His spirit, till your heart will overflow.

You will know the God of love, you will know He cares,
You will never doubt there is a God, not only up above
But in your everyday living, just watching over you.
If you find time to meditate and feel the unending love.

Plan a time to be alone, or with a soul mate good and true.
Spend silent time together, just God, and the two of you.
Then your hearts will glow, your body seem to burn with joy
And the bond you will seal with God, is known to very few.

Do not care what others say, let them call you idle and weak,
For the spiritual strength that’s found, will build a giant’s soul,
So what ever may befall in this tempestuous life, we’ll meet it
With the strength of thousands, for God has made us truly whole.
