SINGING PRAISES
As we gather together as saints of latter days
On the Sabbath day to sing for joy His praise,
Do our voices sweetly rend the quiet Sabbath air,
Or do the hosts of heaven wonder if we are there?
When I sing hymns it is like my heart giving voice
Thanking the Lord for the gift of freedom of choice
And for the great sacrifice of our dear Saviour divine
Who died to save all precious souls, even mine.
I love to sing anthems of praise so often unto Thee,
Sing loud hosannas and also to sing in soft harmony,
Sing songs of gratitude for the suffering of Thy son,
Weep for joy for the great battle that He alone won.
Even if my voice be silenced, my heart would still sing
And sweet music to Thy throne I would still bring,
The song of the heart may have no sweet earthly sound,
But in heaven a hearts song off the arches will rebound.
So how will I sing on the Sabbath when to church I go,
Will it be just a little murmur or let my voice show
What my heart is feeling so heavens arches loudly ring
With praises from within me, and so worship my King.
