I HAVE FOUGHT THE GOOD FIGHT
2nd Timothy 4:7
I wonder when my time comes would I be able to say
Those wonderful words that Timothy spoke that day?
Have I fought the good fight? Have I ran the great race,
Have I kept the faith, been worthy to see God’s face?
Would I face death without being scared and afraid,
Been honest with my fellow men, all my debts paid,
Loved the Lord with all my might, mind and heart,
Loved my neighbour helped others, always done my part?
Help me Lord to be able to say those words so sweet,
Be worthy one day, in heaven thee to lovingly greet,
I’ll try to fight the good fight, stand for truth so bright
Lead some lost soul from the darkness into the light.
I’ll be someone’s friend when they have gone astray,
Help those less fortunate along life’s troubled way,
I’ll serve where asked in God’s kingdom here below,
And with my time and talents my true love show.
Help me, Lord, live long enough this goal to fulfill,
Help me throughout my life be obedient to Thy will ,
Lead me, guide me, hold me by They loving hand
Help me all my days Thy purposes truly understand.
