THE WISDOM OF WISDOM
Wisdom, a gift that brings God’s bounties galore,
For wisdom brings understanding and so much more,
The wings of kindness guide the feet of the wise,
For those who are wise seek heaven as their prize.
With wisdom comes knowledge of things that matter,
Not empty frivolous words that with others you flatter.
The wise always deal justly with their fellow men,
Mingled with mercy, that great gift sent from heaven,
The wise do not find fault but themselves try to improve,
For they have the wisdom to know we all need to improve.
To want to acquire wisdom’s gift is true wisdom indeed,
For it is an attribute that all God’s children will need.
Lord, give, I beg Thee, this gift on me in full measure bestow
That I may press forward and more worthy of wisdom grow.
