WHAT DO WE TREASURE?
Matthew 6:21
What do we seek in our sojourn on earth?
Do we seek the treasures of the greatest worth?
Treasures that will lead us to God’s heaven above,
Our hearts filled with celestial everlasting love.
Do we seek for rich fortune and worldly fame,
Think it is right to achieve good earthly acclaim?
It is fine if it is not foremost in heart on mind,
Comes without seeking it and by being very kind.
The treasure of a forever family in heaven above,
Being guided always by God’s endless pure love,
Also serving others, just as Jesus would have us do
Should be everyone’s treasure, all life through.
Gold does not matter, fame an earthly worthless crown,
Things left behind when we lay our final burden down,
May the Lord know He’s my treasure ever in my heart,
I will strive my best this valued treasure to others impart.
