MODERN PERSECUTION
When Latter day Saints were driven from home
Were tarred and feathered and forced to roam,
Property destroyed then found a place to live
They were willing to forget, also willing to forgive.
People think that folks are not persecuted that way
For thats cruel, uncivilized wouldnt happen today,
Yet the scything remarks of educated paper men
Start just a cruel type of persecution as way back then.
With clever words and uncalled for dim-witted remarks,
Typed up in wide read universal print by unthinking clerks,
Digging knives deep into tender true God loving hearts
This is just as cruel and uncalled for as the mobs parts.
Papers I thought were unbiassed, honest and caring
Cunningly cut and slash, with openly biassed daring,
Why not just accept all folks as good honest people,
Rather than write scathing lies that are utterly feeble
